While Italy did hundreds and hundreds of tests, so a number of approximately 6000 tests France had checked only 500 it is clear that the less you check, the fewer patients you find. Italy did a very clean job however no one says that the virus the patient zero has arrived in Germany, they concealed that it had Corona virus cases already at the end of January.We are seeing the consequences these days in numbers, that is, France and Germany have several cases of coronavirus precisely because they have not warned the population. Personal opinion. Do you really think that Italy is the actual centre of the outbreak? I rather guess Italy is the country where they have done more tests (12.000! In France only 400). The fact is that Italians test asymptomatic people too, when they think these might be linked to the cases. Clearly, more tests means more cases.
Also, it looks quite clear to me that most of the new European cases are linked to Italy: it is now evident that this virus is often mistaken for a flu, however, now that the Italian outbreak is at the centre of attention, people that have been to Italy and feel unwell do go and get checked, something they probably wouldn’t have done before the outbreak was reported. How many other flu-like cases are out there? It is not that maybe this virus has been around for months and that, simply, Italy is the first country that has tried to tackle it?

Borders with Italy must be closed, planes, trains – banned. Italy must be under quarantine. EU has not any possibility to build hospitals for 9 days, EU has literally nothing against epidemic! So, at least borders should be closed.

There are just too many people that are probably infected (via airports and cruise ships) that don’t know they are infected!!! This a serious situation!!! People need to be wearing gloves not just mask and stay a distance of three arms length or more from others. This is not just a airborne virus, all surfaces, distance and protection of skin and nose and mouth is a must. We will overcome this, but it will take intelligent precautions from everyone for the next few months. Hey, it’s better than an alien invasion, well I would think.
My son was 10 when he caught H1N1. He caught it at school. He almost died and lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I have no confidence in the Canadian government in shutting anything down to prevent Covid-19.
