Cela ressemble un peu au début d’un thriller hollywoodien. Une journée d’hiver ordinaire au marché des fruits de mer et de la faune de Wuhan. Commerçants du marché, étals remplis de viande et de poisson, essayant de fouetter leurs marchandises. Les acheteurs, manipulant les produits et essayant de trouver les meilleures offres. Mais Wuhan est à des centaines de kilomètres de l’océan, ce qui signifie ‘Frais’ le poisson et les crustacés à vendre étaient probablement tout sauf cela.
Nous savons que quelque chose sur le marché, peut-être un lot de crabes douteux ou des poulets hurlants emballés ensemble dans des cages, portait une menace microscopique mortelle. Les parieurs ne pouvaient pas savoir que des centaines, voire des milliers d’entre eux, étaient infectés…
Qu’Est-ce que c’est?
Le virus, 2019-nCoV, cible le système respiratoire et provoque une toux, de la fièvre et des difficultés respiratoires. Le liquide peut être drainé des poumons, les voies respiratoires nettoyées et dilatées et l’oxygène délivré par un masque, mais ce ne sont que des moyens de soulager les symptômes.
Les antibiotiques sont inutiles contre les virus – lorsque vous en obtenez un, le médecin vous dit de vous reposer et vous donne une sucette. Contre un virus, le système immunitaire de votre corps est votre seule ligne de défense. Les seuls véritables protections externes contre les virus sont les vaccins – mais ceux-ci peuvent prendre beaucoup de temps à se développer et ne sont pas toujours efficaces. De plus, si et quand le virus mute, la vaccination devient inutile – cela se produit presque chaque hiver avec la grippe, lorsque les médecins jouent un jeu de devinettes sur les souches de grippe qui se propageront cette année-là.
Un vieil ennemi revient… différent
Certains ont émis l’hypothèse que le 2019-nCoV est en fait le syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS), qui a tué près de 800 personnes à travers l’Asie en 2002. L’analyse de l’ADN du 2019-nCoV a révélé qu’il est très similaire au SRAS – essentiellement une forme modifiée. Mais les autorités chinoises tiennent à éloigner ce nouveau bogue du SRAS; peut-être craignent-ils que le nom ne panique le public. Jusqu’à présent, leur ‘Garder le calme et continuer’ le message semble avoir tenu – les navetteurs de Pékin n’étaient pas trop préoccupés par la nCoV 2019, malgré cinq cas confirmés là-bas.
Jusqu’où s’est-il propagé?
Wuhan, où le virus est originaire, est en plein centre de la Chine. Au moment où les premiers rapports ont commencé à arriver, il s’était probablement déjà propagé dans d’autres villes chinoises, et maintenant il y a des cas confirmés au Japon, en Thaïlande et en Corée du Sud; qui sont tous des gens qui ont voyagé depuis Wuhan.
Des milliers de personnes volent chaque jour de Wuhan vers d’autres pays et, tout au long de l’épidémie, des vols en provenance de Wuhan ont atterri à Los Angeles, San Francisco et New York. Les passagers de ces vols, ainsi que ceux à destination de Singapour, Tokyo et Hong Kong, sont actuellement soumis à un dépistage de la nCoV 2019, mais qui peut dire combien de temps le virus et les symptômes peuvent rester inactifs avant d’être facilement détectés?
Peu importe de toute façon, car il est probablement trop tard pour la quarantaine. Des experts à Londres estiment que les autorités chinoises ont minimisé l’étendue de l’épidémie et que le nombre réel de personnes infectées est plus de dix fois supérieur à leurs chiffres. Ils ont estimé 1700 la semaine dernière, et cela a dû encore augmenter depuis lors. Il y a 11 millions de personnes à Wuhan, ce qui constitue une grande cible pour un virus nouvellement muté.
À quel point les choses pourraient-elles devenir mauvaises?
Des scientifiques chinois ont testé des personnes proches des personnes infectées et, dans l’état actuel des choses, elles n’ont pas encore trouvé de cas de transmission interhumaine. Si 2019-nCoV ne peut que passer de son origine animale à l’homme, cela devrait suivre son cours assez rapidement – seuls ceux qui ont contracté la maladie sur le marché tomberont malades.
Mais si le virus est réellement contagieux, ou qu’il mute, les choses pourraient devenir très graves, très rapidement. Il se propagerait par l’inhalation de gouttelettes respiratoires dans l’air, telles que celles pulvérisées par la toux et les éternuements. Dans les pays développés, cela pourrait provoquer sa propagation encore plus rapidement que le virus Ebola, qui ne peut être transmis que par les fluides corporels. La récente épidémie d’Ebola en Afrique de l’Ouest a tué plus de 10 000 personnes, mais c’était avec un taux de mortalité de 40%.
Puisqu’il n’y a eu jusqu’à présent que trois décès signalés à partir de 2019-nCoV, dont deux hommes âgés, ce virus est beaucoup moins mortel qu’Ebola. Mais s’il est encore plus contagieux (d’autant plus qu’il a déjà atteint plusieurs centres de population massifs), le nombre de morts pourrait rivaliser avec celui du SRAS, et qui sait, peut-être même se glisser dans les milliers. En réalité, les humains ne sont qu’à une seule super-bête de la décimation.

Une petite doublure argentée est le fait que de nombreux Chinois portent déjà des masques faciaux pour se protéger de la pollution de l’air. Cela dit, cette épidémie n’aurait pas pu survenir à un moment pire. La Chine fêtera le Nouvel An chinois plus tard cette semaine, un moment où tout le monde obtient des vacances de travail et se rend chez des parents lointains. En conséquence, des centaines de millions de Chinois se déplacent, à bord d’avions, de trains et d’automobiles, dans le plus grand afflux annuel de voyages au monde. Le scénario rêvé pour un petit virus dont le seul but dans la vie est de se propager en infectant autant d’organismes hôtes que possible.
L’Organisation mondiale de la santé ne recommande actuellement aucune restriction aux voyages ou au commerce – tout est sous contrôle, selon eux. Mais dans le zodiaque chinois, après le 25 janvier, nous entrerons dans l’année du rat. Espérons que ce Rat ne transportera pas une nouvelle peste noire pour ravager la moitié du monde.

I’m currently working on writing our MP and MPP about providing free health insurance policies for front line workers. As well as maybe our essential workers. Proper PPE provided to everyone who has to work period. and manufactured in our country ASAP. The actual up to date PPE advice released to the public. As you know I have fought many over this over the last month due to my training and experience with pathogen protection training with our plant and equipment. That we are not being led PROPERLY. With outdated viral spread information from the seventies releases only to people which is to prevent economic destruction but promote death. Please advise me on how to make the best use of this letter and petition started. Send me any information and data to support my application. Basically,history repeats itself ! No lessons learned. Identical problems,politics,lack of coordinated effort by Government. “Federal government is not in charge “ sounds like a repetition as well in 2020.
To the gentleman saying he will “take care of his family and not going to depend on the government “ is an absolute no go in a pandemic. Thus is not one family issue and a family cannot be protected by a virus that is all around and every where.

The problem is…..is that it has been 102 years since the 1918 pandemic. There is no longer a « collective » memory of the event either in the medical community or civilian population. The people that did remember are pretty much all dead by now.
Therefore there has been no fear of such an event (or preparation) with the exception of a very few people sounding alarms for years.
There seems to be a global pandemic at least once every hundred years. We have been caught with our pants down every time. We won’t be ready for the next pandemic either. We’ll puff out our chests and talk about how great we are, totally ignoring history and not learning from our mistakes.

The takeaway from this video is that this disease is only lethal because of compromised immune systems. Which is caused by vaccines, glyphosate and EMF radiation coupled with heavy metals in your body/brain, which the vid doesn’t tell you.
I think remove the cause will help some, instead working on symptoms. Like stop eating meat, put animal in crowded place, most virus come from sick, crowded animal for slaughtering, leave them alone, motto should be live and let live. 1918 flu came from sick chicken in Kansas slautering for eating, then virus has no choice but jump to human to find better host.. Meanwhile there was evidence of community spread in the entire city of wuhan in december but it wasnt declared a global health emergency until january 30, and a pandemic was not declared until march 11th.. big oof.

And now some 13 years after this TED talk we are in the midst of another worldwide pandemic and we have politicians in charge of the USA and Australia (to name just two) who are science deniers who are making wrong decisions that are likely to cost hundreds of thousands of lives.
Enjoyed that. Troubled by the inaction in preparing for a pandemic, when clearly it was put to the powers that be! The UK Government over 15 years has gone in the opposite direction, running down our health service, cutting pay for NHS Staff and failing the public, so no surprises there.
If anything, we have become more entitled and selfish than people in the 1918.
If a big Epidemic hits, we could be screwed and I’m not sure how this Corona Virus will turned out in the end.

The swine flu outbreak in 2009 prompted President Obama to create the Governmental Pandemic Response Task Force. President Trump dismissed the task force in 2018. None of his budgets have given the CDC their yearly budget and 700 positions have been left unfilled as of 2020. States have a patchwork of responses and most of them do not coordinate with each other. We are seeing the effects of this level of unpreparedness.
We need to build a large complex that hires scientific thinkers like this to build solid national response plans for future pandemics based off what we are learning now. We see that ten years ago the foundation in research and historical studies knew Convid 19 would come. We could have prepared our school leaders and our health care systems. This is the type of thing our national government should be leading on. Right now our governor s have been taking the lead.
If businesses are left to develop as they will, they develop just-in-time production chains with possibly one production source in the world, and no local inventory. And this happens in meds and heath care products, too. Is this the place where government regulation would be better than not?

Amidst the Corona virus pandemic, I’ve watched a lot of televised speeches from health officers and government officials and my one takeaway has been that they are grappling to be coordinated and sound like they know what they are doing but at times it becomes clear that they don’t even know that they don’t know what they are really doing. This talk helps explain this disturbing truth as the Covid-19 pandemic unfurls.

Because if laborers don’t know how there bills (food, water, electric, mortgage/rent, etc) will get paid, then they will be tempted to NOT self quarantine & go to work.
