Explained | World’s Water Crisis | FULL EPISODE | Netflix

In Israel half of the water supply comes from desalination, I suprise you didn’t mentioned it. Also, there were water-saving campaigns going on for years, agricalture uses drip irrigation instead of flooding, taps are installed with water savers. By now the problem is actually completely solved here using tech, despite the fact that most of Israel is a desert.
It angers me to see people wasting water like leaving taps open in videos. What angers me more is when someone points that out in the comments and receives responses like « so what, it’s his water. He’s paying for it ».
When will people realize that it’s everyone’s responsibility and when one wastes water, eventually we all will have to pay for it (and not just with money).
see how israel has tackeled its water problem. many years ago we startd with distalation, reuse of waste water (cleaning it and using it for agriculture) and manu other projects. smart way of water use in agriculture and in industry.
Our governments did not see this pandemic coming. And they won’t see this. Write to your representative and make sure they listen to you. Whichever country you are in.
Yeah you can take Melbourne off the list. We spent 3.5 billion on a desalination plant! So unless the ocean’s run dry we will be fine…
One thing that always annoys me is the fact that we have so fckin advanced technologies…but we can’t fckin find a way to DESALINISE water. I mean our earth is 70% filled with salt water…we just gotta figure out a way to efficiently extract usable water from it and we will be good. DESALINATION today is very expensive..hopefully we can find a way to do it cheaply.
…My mother refers to me as the water enthusiast.
I drink about 1 1/2 –> 2 gallons a day.
But this is based off my exercise days.
simple make Conglomerates pay WATER TAX and the end consumer i.e personal usage of water be able to access it free of cost
For some reason I do believe in humans. Of course not everyone, but the science and developments could still save us. Look at the ending of this docu. Peopel changed their behavior when day zero was announced. I truly hope the world will react.
Pay attention.
Prior to the C02 Climate Hoax and The Flu over reaction economic collapse (Covid-19) Water has always been an issue. Ancient civilisations show us that.
Nothing new here.
I read somedays back that India exports 10 trillion litre of water when it exports million tonnes of Basmati rice.
1kg of rice requires around 5000kg of water.
That’s why there is thinking that in future millets will be mainstream crop. It requires around 1500kg of water to produce 1kg of Millets and is super healthy grain. Also can grow in much extreme conditions and is less susceptible to climate change.
Millet will be future crop.
KENYA, Nairobi, Githurai. Y’all should have done some research about my hometown and find out what struggle means. You survive on 1 can of water for all basic needs over a period of 4 days because it’s expensive.
Delhi government’s water scheme seems like one of the better policies,
where limited amount of water is given for free/subsidized rate per household, and if they go over the limit, they pay market rate for the full amount of water used (i.e. no subsidies for them)
as a hydraulic engineer – this documentary reminds me when the water bucket challenge or whatever was happening and people were crying about it. To say farmers in rural areas where water would not be used otherwise is a waste is how do i put this…. dumbass vox reporting
I think we need more investments in global desalination systems. It’s very hard to force people to only stick to a certain amount of water unless you cut off water supply at specific times
Water does leave our planet and it is scinetific fact. At one point all water will disapear from Earth; however, byt that time Earth will be unhabbitable anyway becaus Sun will expaned in its size. Remark, there were a lot of water on Mars too, but due to its small gravitational force water over came Mar’s gravity and flouw away into space.
If we just stop eating meat it solves two major problems the first problem is of water and the second problem is of global warming….also it could solve the worlds famine situation.
Also if we dont save water now…i see us in a madmax future ahead
I was like Vox is already doing these kinds of series and at the end I saw Vox logo. Damn! it was Vox the entire time
Bring OIL across the world but not water
WATER crisis is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Canada produce 60% fresh water per hour about 50 billions of liter per hour with 3 water fall in 4 city.
Thats 7 liter per hour for each human being. So 3 water fall can cover the entire population with 1 hour. Tell me how is it crisis?
Where do I invest? I’m putting all my money on the humans ignoring this until it’s a all out crisis like Corona in the US!
we are now facing a pandemic but water crisis will not be less than any pandemic because we are certainly going to face it if we not check our water crisis. we have lots of water but from that 97% is salty, 2% is frozen in ice so we only leave on reimaging 1%.all over the world water is treated as it’s never going to end to end but it is not true it took millions of year to gather those water. it is very costly to prepare drinking water from the salty water of sea water because it’s completely change the water chemical property. so we should check our water usage, we should use it like a valuable resource like petrol or electricity otherwise that day is not so far when we need to pay much more we pay now for those things
If there was any doubt humans are barely out of the stone age this video dispels them all……We really are the dumbest smartest animals ever to have walked the earth.
we have been importing and exporting cars, crude oil, household electronics, gold, diamonds, food etc, what makes water different? there’s an over supply of water in some parts of the world.
I’ve worked in Water Supply Management for the last 20 years, with a focus on reducing leakage which is mentioned in this video as a major part of this challenge. The messaging here that governments and society need to value water more is spot on. I would argue that it’s not a willingness to pay issue for most people, but an unwillingness to charge that is central to this problem, as politicians are always looking short term to ensure they get re-elected, and tariff increases are considered vote losing decisions. Think how much your water bill is compared to your cellphone bill for example, or even your subscription to Netflix!
Any particular reason when people speaking other languages pop in, you decided to force the translations into the captions instead of just putting them in the video?
Super annoying for people that dont like captions.
2020 made me realized the problem isn’t water shortage or viruses, too many people using up resources is the real problem. We are the virus to this world.
Very easy to fix, NOT CHEAL MIND YOU,
READY…….
BUILD A GIANT FCKING FILTRATION System and use the water from the sea ocean. Its a win win. You will get salt also as a by product.
You will be able to dig GIANT canals all the way to Nevada.
Or samething in the middle east. You will literally be able to make the deserts green af
But how do we get the whole world to see this video, when it’s only been viewed by 19 thousand? There are 7 billion of us.
I read somewhere in my childhood that one drop of water is equal to one drop of your blood from your body. It moved me and I always try to conserve water in whatever I do. I hope people reading this comment also follow this in their life’s. Even a drop from a tap bothers me.
but water is constantly recycled so how do we loose it? even when humans take it in we send it out of our body later right?
Almost the number one thing is this world we live in is that we design markets that PRICE STUFF PROPERLY for long-term benefit to the whole planet.
Destruction is simply our nature. When our existence is threatened, we change. We adapt. We do something about it. That is the sad reality of our intelligence.
control of the weather would mean that they can cause droughts and create artificial scarcity of water as a result this would make more dependencies on the system. create the problem, have a reaction and provide the solution… provided in this narrow perspective is a controlled frame of reference for those people who lack insight on how the world works. your weather is controlled its just a matter of who controls the thermostat.
I got a feeling the next world war will be for the need of water and not oil, that would be something interesting to see.
During the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of people will have to draw from their savings accounts…not sometimes, but into the indefinite future
Should have been to Delhi and should have shown what Delhi Government is doing… You have shown the problem but not the solution… Delhi does have the solution….
This season doesn’t seem to be published on German Netflix, yet, nice to see it here for free on Youtube. Also, it’s impressive how good and how many facades of this problem have been explained in just 18 minutes – that’s what we call in Germany « Druckbetankung »:D
I’m sorry but as a Canadian I can’t help but role my eyes at it. saving water here won’t help where people lack waters. In fact, 99% of electricity come from water.
(turn on the closed captioning if you don’t understand Spanish because VOX did not deem it necessary to add captions for the Spanish-speakers in the video)
