COVID-19: Thailand reverses decision, continues to allow visas on arrival

Mises à jour de l’immigration sur les extensions de visa pendant la pandémie:
La personne dont le visa a expiré le 26 mars 2020 sera automatiquement prolongée jusqu’au 30 avril 2020. Il n’est pas nécessaire de demander une prolongation de visa au bureau de l’immigration pour cette période et ne sera pas condamné à une amende de 500 THB par jour pour ce cas.
Les étrangers qui sont soumis à un rapport de 90 jours entre le 26 mars 2020 et le 30 avril 2020 sont temporairement exemptés de déclaration pendant cette période jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
Les étrangers qui détiennent des laissez-passer frontaliers seront autorisés à rester en Thaïlande pour le moment. Cependant, les étrangers munis d’un laissez-passer frontalier doivent quitter la Thaïlande dans les 7 jours suivant la date d’ouverture des points de passage frontaliers.
Les étrangers sont invités à suivre de près les annonces concernant les mesures d’immigration pour les mises à jour. (Mesures actuellement annoncées jusqu’au 30 avril 2020 ou mises à jour supplémentaires)
Les employés de banque qui opèrent dans tous les bureaux de change (FX Booth) ont reçu l’ordre de fermer. Ils s’auto-mettront en quarantaine à domicile pendant 14 jours selon les directives du Département du Contrôle des Maladies par arrêté du Ministère de la Santé Publique. Actuellement, aucun employé de banque n’a été infecté par COVID-19 de quelque façon que ce soit. Les clients peuvent utiliser le service de change via les services bancaires électroniques comme d’habitude.

Quelles mesures la Thaïlande prend-elle pour empêcher la propagation?
La Thaïlande a un dépistage actif dans tous les aéroports pour les personnes des pays qui ont des cas actifs de coronavirus.
La Thaïlande renforce la surveillance et les tests pour déterminer l’étendue de l’épidémie. Il détecte les cas le plus rapidement possible et isole les cas pour empêcher la propagation du virus et identifie les contacts des personnes infectées.
Les personnes en provenance de Chine, de Hong Kong, de Macao, de Corée du Sud, d’Iran et d’Italie seront soumises à une auto-quarantaine obligatoire de 14 jours, a déclaré la Tourism Authority of Thailand dans un communiqué. Ils doivent demander des visas et présenter des formulaires de santé lors de l’enregistrement certifiant qu’ils ne courent aucun risque de développer la maladie connue sous le nom de Covid-19, ou ils se verront refuser l’embarquement.
Les arrivées d’un autre groupe de 11 pays avec une transmission locale continue doivent signaler les symptômes aux autorités pendant au moins 14 jours ainsi que les lieux qu’ils visitent. Il est également large de porter un masque dans les centres commerciaux et autres endroits surpeuplés. Emportez-en avec vous, car il peut y avoir une pénurie locale.

Si vous voyagez contre l’avis du gouvernement, vous risquez d’annuler votre assurance voyage. En cas de doute, parlez-en à votre assureur voyage.

Oh well – the Thai government has made retiring in the country very difficult lately. Had they lightened up, as many suggested, then the country would not suffering as much. Their recent obsession with China is proving to be – not a good thing. Thailand has such potential.
In India, we are having this lock down situation since two weeks ago.. the whole country is in quarantine mode.. so no Indian can visit there anyways. Let me repeat this, If thailand don’t lock down completely asap, they will regret it. For sure.

It’s disappointing, the responses from embassies in Thailand also. No embassy is working to change anything. I thought an embassy should have their own peoples interest in mind. But they don’t. So sad.

The Philippine Government is doing everything just to fight this virus, President Duterte placed lockdown on cities and ordered travel ban for almost foreign tourists. While Thailand on the other hand is just placing restrictions for visas? What a stupid decision coming from Thai government. I think Thai officials are under-reporting their Coronavirus cases. Cant believe they have fewer than Singapore, when they have 10 million Chinese tourists more than SG population itself, and favorite vacation spot of Koreans, another Coronavirus hotspot. So I have an American passport but live in Mexico where there are 1/100th the amount of covid cases that the US has. Do I need a health certificate or do I get a visa on arrival.
I’m not going to compare Thailand with Japan, U.S, S.Korea etc. Because those countries are already developed and rich. I’ll be fair and compare Thailand with Vietnam and Philippines. Vietnam: stopped flights from china and lockdown 10,000 people for quarantines. Philippine: stopped flights from China long time ago. And sent some Chinese back.
